French Country Estate

Our client’s strong design sensibility and her clear vision for her new home are reflected in the finished design. Her relaxed approach to traditional design is perfectly balanced by the organic materials she chose to use. Functionality was a high priority, as this home is not only a gathering spot for friends and family, but also the home-base for a catering business as well! From the hand-picked stone for the feature wall, to the mercury light fixtures, to the custom drawer inserts for her baking supplies, everything was thoughtfully selected and incorporated into the design. We loved working on this home!.

Pepin Brook Custom Home

Basking in the pristine vineyard setting of Pepin Brook, this custom home was designed and built by Sonbuilt Custom Homes. Dark maple shaker doors and a beautiful custom hood lend drama to this kitchen, while details like a glass corner cabinet and soft, white backsplash provide balance and harmony to the space. The richly stained cabinetry can be seen throughout the house, with gorgeous floor to ceiling storage cabinets, custom closet shelving, a lovely, functional entertainment center, a beautiful built-in dining room hutch, and not to mention bathroom vanities and laundry room cabinets to complete this custom home. The outcome is pure bliss!

Eagle Mountain

High Style on Eagle Mountain. If you thought being an “empty nester” meant moving into a smaller home, guess again! Although this professional couple no longer has children at home, Mike and Dorothy love to entertain their large family as well as friends and colleagues. “Entertaining” for this couple is not limited to family dinners at Christmas and the design of their home needed to accommodate their broad scope of hospitality. A gourmet kitchen, a huge bar and wine room in the casual entertaining area and guest rooms are an integral part of the design of this beautiful, welcoming home which graces the crest of Eagle Mountain.

Lacey Green homes on Eagle Mountain

Two friends, two homes, two great styles!

What could be better than building a new home right beside your best friend’s new home? These friends both had the same sense of style and taste, but in the end their individual personalities came through with design details that distinguish their homes from one another.

Redekop Kitchen

It’s all in the details! This gorgeous kitchen was designed for builder Ernie Redekop and his wife, Bev. They wanted a design that they could call their own, not just the current (and too often repeated) trend of the day. Participating in the designing process with us, Bev brought along some fantastic “inspiration” images and ideas she'd seen and loved elsewhere for combining design and functional features.

Since Ernie enjoys cooking as well, they both had pretty specific thoughts on the requirements of the functionality of the kitchen. Careful thought was put into the function and storage of, as well as the flow around each work space.

The end result is a stunning kitchen that is every bit as functional as it is beautiful! With great flow around each work area, two people can easily work without any problem. The island boasts a separate prep area and sink, in addition to a generous cooking area. The baking center is closer to the wall ovens and fridge, with the main sink in a work area of it’s own. The raised gallery seating around the island accommodates friends and family while concealing any work being done in the kitchen. The kitchen is truly a marriage of function and style!

Pepin Brook Showhome

Owners Jonathan and Carmen Zerkee have worked very hard to establish Sonbuilt Custom Homes as a quality builder. Their determination to use the latest building technologies and systems with an insistence on only quality materials have earned this company a good reputation amongst their clients and peers. It was no surprise that Sonbuilt Custom Homes was asked to be the builder of the higher-end, quality custom homes going into the Pepin Brook Development in Abbotsford. Lot 96 was the first of these homes to be built.

In a country setting that is bordered with vineyards and boasting a view of Mt Baker, Pepin Brook is a remarkably unique development! Sonbuilt’s first home in Pepin Brook is truly a reflection of this inspiring setting and the undertones of a French provincial home prevail.

The antiqued cream kitchen is accented with the dark espresso island and features birch plywood interiors, dovetail drawers and granite countertops. The vanities are finished in a beautiful mocha stain, which is also antiqued. The home’s added charm is all in the details, from the extra thought put into the designs down to the vintage-look hardware on the cabinets, making this home timeless and elegant!

Whistler Style Home in Regal Peaks

Exposed timber beams and fir passage doors give this new home the inviting warmth of a chalet up in Whistler. Adjacent to Eagle Mountain in Abbotsford, B.C. and nestled on to a greenbelt, this home basks in a stunning view of Mount Baker.

Entertaining in a relaxed atmosphere is high on this client's priority, and so the kitchen was designed with that in mind. Not one, but two islands achieve the most in combining function, flow and plenty of room for family and friends to gather.

The main island focuses on a large, center stage for prepping and cooking. The other island creates a sports bar style seating area for watching the cook or sports on the great room's large screen television.

To compliment the green tones of the slate floor and backsplash, a caramel-toned stain (# 221) with dark antiquing was used on the maple cabinetry. To give the kitchen a show-stopping look, we found an unusual Brazilian granite that is like a piece of art.

The couple's ensuite has a spa-like feel. With it's natural Travertine tiling throughout, we opted for a striking contrast for the cabinet colour.
